Artist Statement
What objects do we keep and why do we carry them?
The inspiration for my work comes from the idea of ownership and how we decide what becomes an object worth keeping. In my exploration of these objects, I hope to explore what sentiments are shared when certain objects we hold onto and exchange with one another are revisited. This also raises the question of whether anything we own or choose to claim ownership of is unique to ourselves. I often draw upon the memories and relationships that I've made to form a collective answer and prompt viewers to resonate with certain objects as they interact with my work. As such, my body of work often utilizes replicative and repetitive processes such as woodworking, digital fabrication, printmaking, and bookmaking that allow me to produce multiples, either for dissemination or communication of content.
